SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATES (STC’S) UNDER THREAT!!
STC’s are generated whenever a solar hot water, or solar power system is installed. They are ultimately bought by liable parties i.e. electricity generators, to assist them in meeting their Renewable Energy Target (RET).
We generally offer the value of STC’s as a point of sale discount off the price of your solar hot water, or solar power system. This requires you to assign the STC’s to us so that we can, register and then sell them to a dealer.
This saves you all the headache.
The media is currently abuzz with speculation that the current Federal Government may abolish the RET. If this were to happen, it would probably mean that the STC discount would no longer exist, and therefore increasing the price of a solar hot water system by about $1000, and a 2 kW solar power system by around $1400.
The Government is currently saying that the state of the economy is due to the intention reducing carbon emissions.
