The Centrex 3000 composting toilet works on a continuous flow design to maximise its capacity and improve the composting process. The rotation of the drum forces the compost along the length of the Centrex 3000 and into an auto-drop mechanism, which lets the compost fall into the collection housing. The drum handle can continually be rotated in a clockwise direction and allow the material to work along the drum and deposit in a separate collection box.
The Centrex 3000 can be supplied as a microflush model or a waterless model. In the waterless model the waste falls under gravity into the drum of the composter. In the case of the micro flush model the waste is transferred by the microflush. The flush of 0.5 litres of water from the ceramic pedestal carries the waste sideways and then down into the drum of the processor. From this point on the two modes are identical. The microflush pedestal can be up to 4 metres away from the composter in a horizontal plain and a couple of floors up vertically.
The Centrex 3000 is a 240 volt unit as standard. The thermostatically controlled heater is built into a compartment under the unit to help aid in the evaporation process. The Centrex 3000 has a vent stack and 35 watt fan to supply oxygen to the pile and eliminate all odours.
The solar compatible Centrex 3000 NE version is a 12 volt (1.9 watt fan) version without a heater for the absorption tray.
The unit also comes with a drain hose to ensure any excess liquids are removed to a small sub surface gravel absorption trench.
The Centrex 3000 composting toilet has received Australian & New Zealand Standard 1546.2:2008 certification and is approved in most states. It can go with either microflush pedestals or waterless pedestals, purchased separately.
