Simple, Passive Solar Design.
The original solar hot water system developed in Australia more than 50 years ago was designed around the natural principle of heat rising.
This system is the simplest type of solar hot water system available. Water is stored in the storage tank, and is connected to solar hot water panels, sometimes called collectors. As water in the panels is heated from the sun, that water rises to be stored in the tank above. This rising heated water displaces colder water, which naturally falls to the bottom of the collectors.
The heating process is natural and simple. There are no moving parts, and therefor, nothing to break down.
It is the simplest, and often the longest lasting solar hot water system, that usually requires the least amount of maintenance.
Free Hot Water
If you have water pressure but no electricity, then a passive solar hot water system can provide you with hot water from the sun. Stainless Steel passive solar hot water systems can also be connected to a wood fire for cheap, passive winter boosting.
The systems will work on gravity feed, mains pressure, or a pressure pump.
